Programme note:
Oklahoma was the first and most succesful of Rodgers and Hammerstein's colaborations. Opening on Broadway in 1943 it ran for over 200 performances. It is a story of cowboy romances in the emerging state of Oklahoma in the early 1900s and is packed with songs that have become classic standards.
Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' is the opening number sung by the hero, Curly as he contemplates the coming day.

Performance note:

The waltz sections should be relaxed but played with a lilt. Be free in the 'blues' variation.
