Notes:

The text of "Veni, veni Emmanuel" is first seen in the 1710 edition of a German hymnal though it is probable that it derives from an earlier Latin antiphon source meant to be used in the liturgy in the days preceding Christmas. The melody we now mostly associate with it is also of unproven derivation. It appears, with an English translation of the words, in an 1851 English hymnal, noted without creditation as "From a French Missal in the National Library, Lisbon" though it is possible it derives from a melody found in a series of funeral processionals in the National Library of France.
