Programme note:

Programme note: The Three Kings is a Christmas carol written in 1856 by the German composer Peter Cornelius for vocal soloist, originally with simple piano accompaniment. He later added Philip Nicolai's hymn "Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern" ("How Brightly Shines the Morning Star") to the accompaniment. The chorale has been subsequently re-transcribed for choir, with the choir singing the words of the original hymn. This version uses the trombone of the quintet as the vocal soloist.
