Zequinha Abreu (d. 1935)

Arranged by Roger Harvey

For 2 solo horns, 12 horns and optional percussion

Difficulty: Hard (solo: Virtuoso)

Price: £27.50

Programme notes:

Tico Tico is one of the best known and most arranged of Latin American tunes. This version was requested for a recording made by Cala Records of the London Horn Sound. This is one of a series of recordings featuring London players on various instruments. To date the cello, viola, violin, and trombone have been featured. The arrangement was originally to feature the virtuoso talents of Frank Lloyd and Richard Bissill with an accompaniment of 12 ‘concertante’ horns and percussion.

Performance notes:

The low parts may be doubled it extra players are available.

Keep the accompaniment parts lively but be careful not to obscure the solist.

All players should play with a bright articulation and good rhythm throughout.

15005A

Available also in a version for solo horn and 6 horns. This version was made for Frank Lloyd to perform at the 1999 International Horn Workshop.
