10046 – Das Kufstein Lied

Karl Ganzer

Arranged by Roger Harvey

Difficulty: Medium

Price: £25

Programme notes:

Kufstein lies in the Austrian Tyrol and is famous for its glass. It is also well known in Austria and Germany as the subject of the Kufstein Lied, which extols the virtues of this lovely mountain town. This arrangement mixes the haunting sounds of the alpine landscape with a short episode in true beer-hall style.

Performance notes:

The solo trumpet should be placed off-stage to get a distant echo effect.

Play the opening expressively and with a little sensitive rubato.

Once the horn melody starts keep it moving gently.

Enjoy the chorus and ham it up if you feel like it.
